Cozy Autumn Giveaway!

Giveaway time again here at On My Bookshelf...

Autumn is my FAVORITE time of year hands down! I love the changing colors, I love the leaves everywhere. I love watching my kids play in the leaves, trick or treating, Thanksgiving, etc. Just love the coziness of it all! So in honor of my favorite season, I've put together a fun giveaway.

I have a hardcover of Kate Jacob's The Friday Night Knitting Club as well as an ARC of Knit Two! One winner will get BOTH books. I'm going to throw in a gift that goes along with it as well, just to add to the coziness (hint: it has to do with warm beverages).

Contest rules:
1) Leave a comment WITH AN EMAIL ADDRESS. If you don't leave an email in the comment, you will be disqualified. In your comment, please let me know if you happen to be a knitter as well as a book lover and I might throw an extra little surprise in the box if you win!
2) Leave meaningful comments on any other posts (old or new posts) for extra entries. One entry per comment.
3) Open only to US and Canada addresses.
4) Contest open Nov. 2nd through Nov. 2oth.

I use to knit when I was younger but I haven't for years. I should get back into it. It would be a great way to relax.

My friend recommended this. She said it was amazingly adorable. I want to see if she is right, though she usually is:)

I am also a fan of autumn. I love the changing colors and the smells. Unfortunately this year I think we got jipped; it was cool (no Indian summer) and it rained so much that the colors weren't very good. I'm hoping next year will be better.

I would love to win this! Both titles are on my TBR list. I learned to knit as a child. I can knit anything.....that is square or rectangular....LOL!! I do not knit often, but have knit blankets for babies, scarves, cotton dishcloths, and that sort of thing. I would like to eventually learn to knit socks!
thanks for the entry Marilu

I learned to knit briefly in college and made my dad a sweater but then gave it up as I wasn't very good. Now I read so much, my eyes probably couldn't do both...plus my fingers have trouble with arthritis so....but I love to see people make those gorgeous things.

thanks for entering me for the books!

I don't knit myself, but my sister and two close friends do, these would make such great gifts!

These books look like such fun!

As for your knitting question, I have knit in the past and would like to be a knitter but I really can't call myself one. I remember trying to make myself a sweater once; I started it when I was 12 and didn't finish until I was close to 17. By then, I'd grown breasts and it no longer fit. I also tried knitting a scarf once - I got bored and it ended up being a sleeping bag for my Barbies.

I overheard two professors once talking: "Did you hear about Dr. Smith's latest run-in with a female student? Seems he was lecturing and spotted a woman in the audience knitting. He said to her 'I suppose that you knit while you m********* (pleasure yourself)?' 'No' replied the woman, 'When I knit, I knit and when I m++++++++, I ++++++++++.'"

Hi, my first time here, arrived via West of Mars.

These books have such pretty covers! In theory, I'm a knitter, but it's been quite some time since I got the knitting needles out - two children ago, I think! My time is is filled with the other daily chores. Maybe when they're in university I can start looking at yarn again?

forgot to say - I'm doing the RIP challenge also! Still one book behind, though (the horror slot. deliberately left it last).

I love to read but I don't know how to knit. I have a friend that knits for our animal shelter. She makes little rugs for the cats. They love them.

I'm an onagain off again knitter. With cold weather coming, I'll probably be doing more, especially since I'm the on duty library worker during our weekly, "knit one, sew too" group (i've been doing cross-stitch during the summer.)

Thanks for this giveaway

I love to knit and crochet, and I love to read! Both are such good fall and winter activities--put in a favorite, familiar movie and make a pot of coffee while you knit... or curl up in bed with the cat and some fluffy blankets to read a good book. :) Thank you so much for the giveaway!

Autumn is my favorite season, too; it has the nicest smell. =)
I prefer embroidery, but I've knitted. I've knitted about six scarves, one pair of leg warmers, and one (successful) hat. The hardest thing was figuring out how to cable knit.
I commented on your Bear-ly There post. That book was so cute!

And I love to read.

I knit now and then when I have the time. I recently bought a stash of yarn to make few washclothes and maybe a scrap afghan.
